Tips for first time at National

Headed to the National for the first time and was hoping
to find out if there was some tips people who have been
there before would give a first time visitor. My collection
is mostly basketball but am interested in all sports.

Thanks,
James

Bring a notepad to write down what your thinking about buying, where you saw it and the cost. Otherwise, you may never find it again.

    Echo the above.

    Good shoes.

Walk the entire floor and see everything once you get there. When you find a booth you like write down the row and location and what was there so you can go back. If you have an IPhone or phone that takes photos take pictures of items you like for future reference, and write down the price(s) of items so you can compare.

Have a plan for what you want and try to stick to it. It is like drinking out of a fire hydrant - so much coming at you at once you will have a lot spill over.

    Have fun.

Thanks for the tips. I got my good shoes and notepad
ready. My nephew and I are working on the Michael Jordan
master collection so hoping to add some rare or oddball
    issues during the show.

You can bring in just about anything as they don't check bags. So bring snacks, water and any other creature comfort you can think of.

I remember the first time I went to the National. I brought $500 and it was gone in an hour. My mind was blown.
    It never leaves you...

What type of basketball ? Shiny stuff ? Vintage ? Memorabilia ? Autographs ? Uniforms ?
  • Options
I collect it all new and vintage don't have any uniforms
or game used but autographs, cards, basketballs stuff
like that. My favorite item I have is probably a team signed
ball from the 54 Milan (Hoosiers) team. They have a very
nice museum in the town really neat stuff.

What's your collection focused on game used and auto's
    or more card oriented ?

I'd say buy it, as it will be sold by the time you come back

Don't eat the food there. It is terrible and over priced.
Love those 70's - early 80's packs and boxes...send me a message if you are selling because I am buying
