Working on a "well loved" 1935 National Chicle Football set

I picked up the Nagurski one day not too long ago as I've kind of always liked that card, and I thought since the set was only 36 cards that I'd try to pick the rest up as well. My goal for this set is to do it cheaply LOL, so as you can see from my collection of them so far below, they are well loved image A little trimming, some writing, some plain ugly, but they work for me. My only general "requirements" is that I'm able to read the complete back, the card is real, and that the cards don't have unseemly chunks out of them. Plus, I hope to do the rest of the set other than Nagurski by trading instead of buying. Of the 30 cards so far, I've paid for 1, Nagurski, the rest have been traded for.

Here's where I'm at so far, I need 6 more,

What a great project, good luck finishing it! My favorites are the background of Battles and the image of the Isola. Cool!

Really like the Battles and Edwards. The Isola is a cool image to, never saw that one.

    Good stuff.

This was one of the sets I started putting together in 2007 when I got back into the hobby and, just this past week, I finally found the last two cards I needed to complete it in straight PSA 3.

As a kid, back in 1983, when I first stumbled upon this set while flipping through a price guide I couldn't have imagined I would one day own it.

While 1948 Leaf is my favorite set of all time, if I could only keep one set from my collection, it would be the Chicle one.

Do you plan to crack them out as a raw set, or are you going to submit all the non-PSA cards to PSA so they're all slabbed the same?

My OCD won't allow me to collect a set in different grades, forget having different grading companies! image
