Patterns and PCGS

How does PCGS decide what patterns they will grade?

Do they only grade Judd listed patterns? What if a piece is a new discovery and unlisted?

    I think it's fair to say that PCGS will grade anything that they feel is worthy of inclusion in the Judd book, even if it's not there yet.

    As for assigning new Judd numbers, there's a fair amount of cooperation between the editors of Judd, USPatterns.com and the TPGs. Never seems to be a problem.

    The question isn't whether PCGS can decide what to grade, of course they can. The question was what PCGS has decided to grade.
