Late 70s OPC Rip

Will be ripping some packs throughout the day in an effort to complete a 25 card drop off sub for National.

On the block are a 78 and 2 of the 79s I just got from Tim.

More to come.

BTW: it is 5:00 somewhere right? It's noon in the West and I'm already on the bottle. Hopefully I get a little love or who knows where this rip might lead.image

78 is down. Had some star power, but centering on those stars left plenty to be desired.

If only Rose and Brooks had the centering of Messersmith or League Leaders.

Might have to drop another Newcastle before the next pack.

Better luck on the centering on your next packs. Nice to pull two HOFers out of a pack though. Nothing wrong with hitting the bottle at noon if you can get away with it. Once I am off kid watching duty, I may join you down here in San Diego in a couple minutesimage

Man. Star power continues...as do the centering woes on the them. Why can't they have the centering of the other two?

Hopefully the stars align on the next pack.

Last pack. Gotta say, each pack yielded a few good stars. And in this last pack one of them was finally centered pretty well.

Fun rip for a Friday afternoon.

In my experience with '79 OPC, your centering was exceptionally good.

Very nice Burris and Munson, Jim. The Burris is particular hard to find centered.

I agree. I once opened a '79 OPC pack, and one of the cards was SO off center and miscut, that it was an entirely different player showing!

Munson, Burris and White all look very nice, Jim! Thanks for sharing the results!

Even with the lower per pack price vs 79 Topps, the 79 OPC set is a very undervalued one, in terms of just how difficult it is to put together in NM+ grade.
