Multiple Item Purchases from Probstein

I raised this question before, but I'm afraid I still don't get it.
I wish to purchase two buy it now items and combine shipping. If I put multiple items in my shopping cart and attempt to request a total, I'm told shipping discounts for multiple items are not available.
If I attempt to hit buy it now on any item, I am brought directly to checkout no matter what I do.
When I ask Probstein what to do, he insists I can hit buy it now without paying, but (at least on my iPad) that is not the case.
Any insight? Please be very specific, I'm slow.

I would try using a regular computer to make the purchases, if possible, as you should not be required to send payment individually for each item.
Otherwise, I suppose Rick could refund the overage back to you easily enough once payments are made.

Eating a crap-load of chocolate may help with this.

Otherwise, I believe you can just press buy it now on both and just not pay. I haven't used BIN in a while, but I believe you press BIN and it takes you to a screen that says something to the effect of "you are committing to buying this item...". I would commit to the purchase and just don't finish the check out process. I think this will put the item in your cart. Let them sit in your cart until he sends an invoice.
This didn't used to happen, but it does now.
If anyone contends that it doesn't, please try hitting buy it now on a Probatein item and tell me what happens.
I have contacted Rick, and he insists that I can hit buy it now without checking out. Since that's not true, I don't know what else to do.

I did this once and requested a refund for the excess shipping. I didn't get one. I'm sure he would be willing to refund it, but it's too large an operation to start making special requests. I want a systematic way to handle this, that doesn't seem too much to ask.
The other thing you can try is to put both items in your cart, then check out, and if it doesn't combine shipping, include a note to seller to combine the shipping. This worked for me recently, but not with Rick.
Good luck.

If he has time to respond to your email, it shouldn't be that difficult to click a few buttons and send a partial refund for the overage.

<< <i>Are you using the mobile Ebay app? I think it has a problem with combined shipping. I have a lot of users that buy from mobile apps that have told me they have to pay immediately and cannot combine shipping. >>
That's the weird part. I am not using the app, just using the regular website, and the same thing is happening from iPad and laptop, both with Safari and Firefox.
<< <i>I hear all this from ebay customers several times a week. I've given up on calling and talking to ebay about it as they are clueless. Sometimes switching to ebay.ca works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes switching from Ipad to PC works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm at the point now when I get a question about it I just get the list of what they want from them and create a new listing with all the cards on it for them. >>
Usually it's not a problem because I can load up my shopping cart and just request a combined invoice. But Probstein has that disabled for some reason.

Some of my customers are able to add to cart some are not, and I don't know of any way I can enable or disable that.
Try purchasing those items when you are logged into a different nation's ebay site, like ebay.ca, ebay.co.uk, ebay.it, ebay.de, ebay.es, ebay.fr, etc. I have had the problem you describe before, and when that occurs I purchase from one of the other sites and it all works out just fine.

<< <i>I'm 99% sure there is a "continue shopping" button on the payment screen for BIN's that require immediate payment. >>
There is, but it just puts the item in your shopping cart, which doesn't help as described above.
<< <i>Thanks for the tips guys, I was able to buy the items without checking out via eBay.ca. >>
Glad to hear it worked for you. It is a good work-around to know about.
