    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Beautiful Bowmans... congrats! Could be bottom right corner holding the Rice back, possible surface indention? But I'd rather have that over some 9s and 10s I've seen.

That is a beautiful PSA 8 Rice. Tough luck on that one. PSA seems to grade certain cards especially tough and that is one of them, IMO. Nice pops on the Mint Bowmans!

No way that's a straight 8 on the Rice. Here is my extremely generous 8 that I recently got back from PSA. link

Not all grades are created equal. You did well to get your 8 and he got a hard luck 8. Unless there is a technical issue not visible in the scan, I would probably try to regrade the one he has.

Tough to see the lower right corner on landrith because it's obscured by the PSA logo but if it's as nice as the other three corners than I agree that you probably have a 9 there.

Where did you find such nice 1954 Bowmans? eBay, a shop, show, etc?

They were an ebay find, great deal at about $80 for 40 cards. He said he got them from someone who opened packs, took out the stars and let him pick what he wanted. The whole lot was very nice, sharpest 50's cards I've ever seen. The rest are bit o/c and not worth grading, but pack fresh cards from the 50's are still special. Here's some more from that lot, along with the Rice and Landrith minus the holders. When I first saw the Landrith, I thought easy 9, shot at 10 if I got lucky. The last 9 sold for over $700, so I might resend that and the Rice on something other than a $7 special/$100 max value. I'm still wondering why, at the least, the Rice did not 8.5. Oh well, It's just an opinion, I'll try for a second one.
