Great service time by PSA. This was part of a June Special, postmarked June 30th, with login on Monday and popping with grades today. A decent sub for me, I'm happy to get my first Gem Mint 1986 Feer Basketball cards. Most of these were raw eBay pick-ups and local card shop finds. The 86 Fleers were $1 each in the common case, so I was pleased there. My favorites are probably the 1995 CC Gold Sig Sandberg and the 1996 Fleer Tiffany Sandberg.

I realize modern isn't everyone's favorite here, but I like seeing other members results, so here are mine:

    Wow, 2 Gem and 3 9's out of 5 86 Fleer BK cards is great. Those are great pickups. Wish my LCS had mint 86 commons. Congrats!

    Regarding the 86 Fleers: he had about 50 of them, most OC and maybe PSA 7 quality on a good day. I picked what I thought would land in a 9 holder. Neither of the 10's are going to make me rich, as on a good day they are $50-70 cards. Still, not a bad score for $1 each.

    I am building a PSA 10 1988 Fleer Basketball set, so the Kareem was nice.

    That said, I have been trying to get the Sandberg 96 Finest Refractor and 96 and 97 Mirrors into PSA 10 holders forever. It's just not happening.

    The 86 Gems aren't going to make you rich, but it's still fun to turn a $1 common bin card into a $50-70 Gem. If only one of the gem commons was a Johnny Moore or even a Lewis Lloyd. I just looked at your MJ registry set. Jeez those are some nice cards to have 10's of. I am not familiar with modern cards from the early 2000's. What makes the two cards you don't have gems of so hard to find (I think it was the 2001 Stadium Club and 2002 Topps)? How far along are you on your 88 Fleer set? Always nice to see another basketball collector posting!

    Looks like a successful sub. I may be in the minority here, but I collect some vintage and some modern. For me both eras have their positives and negatives in the design/value department. Todays modern will someday be someones vintage.

    Don't get me wrong, I love the 90's inserts and parallels. I just realize most on this board gravitates to vintage pre-war and post-war era cardboard.

    Slum: The 2001 Stadium and 2002 Topps are tough in high grade. Edges on the stadium are brutal, corners and centering on the 2002 are also tough. Plus, not many people sub those issues in that stretch of years. You have to sub them yourself to get gems.
