1951 Mantle--Did PSA ever use different fonts on the same flip?

Saw this listing a couple of hours ago and was turned off by the flip. Never seen one where the font for the grade was different than the rest of the flip. Did PSA ever do that? This thread doesn't show one, but I don't think it's exhaustive.

That's a bad flip and a bad card. I'd stay away.

I don't think I've ever seen a flip as effed up and dysfunctional as that one; as thunderdan said, stay away; actually, run away, and run very fast too.

Wow good catch. Did not even notice, it's getting scary on eBay land. Scammers are everywhere.

Yeah I figured it was bad but wasn't 100% sure (I didn't buy it). Lots not to like but the flip jumped out first. Notified the seller it's bad.

Just wanted to follow up to say that the seller was very responsive and seemed to genuinely be committed to doing the right thing. I suppose there's no way to know for sure what happened between the seller and the buyer, but I did want to at least give the seller credit for saying the right things since I called out the auction. I think the seller is probably the one who got scammed here.

i would agree. i have actually seen a few "coin related" vendors on ebay posting fake flipped mantles. i would think the scammers are probably going in and "trading" the cards for some legit gold or coins that do not leave a paper trail. said coin shop owner thinks he's getting a deal after doing a lil research on what a "51 mantle / mantle psa 9" rake in and thinks he's hit the jackpot....

the coins and scammers are long gone by the time he posts the listing and receives his first "you got a bad card" message.

probably brushes off the first one, but then he get's that second one and his world immediately crashes.
