1975 Topps Football 10's - Keep raw or Grade away! Scans

Picked this beauty up as part of a deal.

Any chance at the elusive !0's.

My eyes have been letting me down lately.

Not getting the "Grader of Death" but getting far more 8's & 9's than expected.

Any 75 experts out there?

How is top /bottom centering decided for this year?

All opinions valued.

Thanks in advance.

Far from an expert here but in general chasing a 10 holder is exactly as you described - elusive. I would submit because you have some nice looking cards and there seems to be some positive momentum with vintage football.

Btw, love the Drew Pearson card. Looks like he went to the same barber as Oscar Gamble.

Good luck if you choose to submit.

Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

Lots of 9's and some 8's, but worth submitting. You may squeek out a 10. Overall I would be very pleased with your purchase.

I might be super late to the party, but has it been documented that Topps misspelled "reciever" on the Swann card?

Card is listed as an UER. So I guess somebody already figured it out.

    Never noticed the Swann.

Any thoughts on the Fouts or Bleier grade.

Do any of the others stand out as better candidates?

    Thanks

Nice cards, but there seems to be a fair amount of snow on some, fouts and swann in particular. That will wreck a grade. If the bleier is clean, its very gradable.

Always liked the Fouts rookie. Nice cards.

Fouts has shot at 9 on a good day.
    Swann - 8 (snowy surface)
    Harris - 8
    Bleier - 9

IMO, these look like at least a 9: Owens, Eller, Sizemore, and Moses.

Good luck if you decide to submit them.

    Thanks,

    Sharp cards

Fouts won't 10, see the "smudge" under the C in Chargers
  • I have many a 10 in 1975 football, and you have very nice looking cards for a set extremely tough on centering. As mentioned, snow on
Swann, smudge on Fouts. The bottom corners also have touches you can see better from the views of the backs.

Others seem off center just a bit too much to be considered in the 10 range. I think your best looking cards that are the toughest in the
set are the Jim Braxton and Essex Johnson. Those are relatively hard to get even in PSA 9.

    Good luck on your grades

I'm not sure anyone can predict a 10, especially in the older cards.
