Do you think athletes acquire their cards?

Had this conversation with a teammate of mine while our team was batting in a game this past weekend. I brought it up because he mentioned something about Chris Young (Royals pitcher) who happens to be my sister's neighor in San Diego. Met him briefly, just inroducitons. Previously, I had thought about buying his rookie card and having my sister give it to him to sign. I'd then get it slabbed and give it back to him. But I thought to myself, would he already have this?

What do you guys think? Do athelete's (aside from perhaps Dmitri Young, Id assume he collect his owns cards as well) collect their own cards? At the very least their rookie cards?

I'm sure they do and are just like the rest of us with interest, and more likely much more money, but just wondered perctenage as well..

I am sure many of them do. I would if I were a professional athlete.
