Will psa slab a card if it is trimmed?

Is there any value in a card if it is trimmed? And slabbed authentic( if they will)?

Rare rookie cards or other cards in general, if it presents very we'll but has been trimmed.....does it still have value?

Depends on the card, but they will do Auth-Trimmed on 'key' cards. 52T Mantle, I'm sure they would, 63T Rose, maybe, just to give you an idea.

They will slab it authentic if you ask. If it's an iconic card or especially rare it still has value, but that value is in the eye of the beholder and can vary greatly.

    This.

It does not need to be a "key" card. All you have to do is ask and they will slab it. Write up a note with that request on your sub form and save yourself having to call after the grades pop but hoping to catch them before they ship. I recommend something like the following: "Please assign a numerical grade to each item whenever possible. If for some reason a numerical grade cannot be assigned to a particular item, please then label that item as "Authentic" as a second option and seal in a holder instead of returning it raw/ungraded. Thank you." Put that in the note box at the bottom of the electronic sub form, or, put a version of that in the note box that is just for the single item to which you are referring, and you should be good to go.

They will slab a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan as authentic trimmed or altered.

  • There is value in PSA slabbed authentic cards but unfortunately the value is quite low even if it presents well.
  • Worth noting here that some AUTHS may have significant value:

    D322 Wagner AUTH = 3k+

SGC AUTH Old Mill Jackson = 50k+

True will interesting to see where the jackson ends at. Currently about $68k with buyers premium. With population of around 10 in any grade, the Jackson is very scarce and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends around $100k.

Simple answers to OP's question are yes.

If OP has a specific card in mind a better answer could be given. Many good general answers here; 52 Mantle would be a good card in an "Authentic Trimmed" holder and would have significant value if it presented well.

I have a Killebrew rookie I won in a Mr Mint auction years ago (before TPG companies) looked like a 9. Came back "Authentic Altered" I have looked at it many times and don't have a clue to how it was altered. It just sits in a box. I have always wondered if it had any value.
