<< <i>So I can go to the MAC website where I can submit coins for a MAC sticker or I can outright buy MAC stickered coins. Sure looks like self stickering to me.
If PCGS or NGC sold the coins they graded how independent would their grading be? >>
How is the MAC model different from the CAC business model, stickering and making a market in the stickered coins? >>
CAC does not sell the coins that they sticker. No conflict of interest in applying a sticker. How would if appear if PCGS sold coins that they grade? >>
Not true. They make a market in CAC stickered coins. >>
You are missing a key distinction. CAC does not buy non CAC stickered coins cheaply at non-CAC prices, sticker them, and then flip them for obscene profits. Rather others submit the coins and CAC later buys the coins already stickered. At the time the grading opinion is given and the piece stickered, CAC has no financial interest in the piece and therefore, there is no conflict or potential conflict of interest.
Does MAC do this? >>
If John (CAC) is offered a coin that has not been stickered for a low price (lets say an ms65 saint for $1750) what is wrong with him stickering it after buying it (if he feels its CAC worthy) and selling it for say $2100? (apx cac sell price on ms65 saints)
Since john has a buy back on that coin at $2040, (he is making a 2 way market) I dont see anything wrong.
Same with MAC NY. They buy eagles unstickered hoping that when he submits them to MAC FL they will all sticker. if they do then great score for MAC NY. As long as MAC NY is willing to support a 2 way market in MAC coins I dont see anything wrong.
Hmmmm.........what is wrong? What is wrong? Hmmmmm........well, I just kind of remember that history can repeat itself. If one had read things from a little over 10 years ago, which involved a principal in this, then maybe one would see there is a history there to be aware of.
I trust JA. I'll give some trust to JS as well since I haven't see any hinkiness. I'll withhold on others for historical reasons.

No...........they "support" the Market in CAC Stickered coins by guaranteeing their opinions with cash.
They do not "sell" stickered coins from their website.
This entire thing is starting to smack.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
