PSA 8, Maybe 9 ???

I could see that in an 8 holder, front upper-left corner and purple PD keeps it out of a 9 most days.

Not a 9--maybe an 8. When I used to collect raw '67s, I would always go through them looking only at the backs. If I could see touches on the corners on the back, I would continue through the stack. If the back was perfect(ish), I would then check the front for focus/centering/etc. It was a pretty good way to do it. The fronts aren't good indications of technical grade.

All of the Wilhelms cards have the purple PD.

Not a 9 with multiple corner touches. I can see it in an 8. Nice card.

Smitty, I agree that the corner touches keep it out of a 9 holder. I can't see it in anything higher than an 8. On a bad day I can see a grader putting it in a 7.5 slab. Best of luck. You have picked up some nice stuff lately.

Yuck, I've never noticed that before.

I don't know anything about '67s, but it's becoming clear that some graders are insanely tough on '71s and '75s with respect to corners. I thought the below card was a certain 8. And there are 8s with much worse corners all over eBay. But human interpretation of grading standards will always be a reality, so it is what it is.

  • 7 at best with the touched corners and the tilt is making my eye barrels bleed.

    8-8.5

Does anyone actually ever follow up with these threads after the cards get graded?

50 day I corrected , but as for your grades you were proven wrong on previous threads so I think you know not how to grade

Was not proven wrong. You got a gift on one card. All the others I mentioned you never posted the grades. I'm not the one always asking for advice because I already know what I'm doing.

Actually i did, but not all the cards are back yet. If you were my adviser I'd be a loser, but hey I'm a winner and so is the guy I paid good money to.
  • I'm going to say an 8. The card presents well in all fashions except that it's cut on a tilt. GL!

I am guessing a PSA 7. All four corners have issues.

It's a large scan-makes the corner defects looks worse than they really are. Should get an 8.

I'm guessing an 8, but wouldn't be surprised by a 7. I'm thinking no shot at a 9. Nice card.
