Mark Grace
After I hit a home run I had a habit of running the bases with my head down. I figured the pitcher already felt bad enough without me showing him up rounding the bases.

Nice try, but that's not Mark Grace.
I'm 100% certain it's Marc Newfield of Mariners/Padres fame.

Agree - perhaps an early sig - his has changed over time but here's an older sig - he curves his letters differently today IMO.

agree on the "dating" of the signature, the ball is a pretty early version IMO, probably 1st or 2nd year in the bigs
there's several examples on early cards of his on a search, it's how i confirmed who i thought it was
