When do you say no mas?

I have PSA graded baseball sets from 59-67 (missing 62), plus 1971. I am really starting to run out of room, plus the wife is unhappy with all the space they occupy. I keep buying more cards. I am thinking about keeping about 200 cards from each year 65-67. I consider the 59-64 cards to be untouchable. I'm afraid of seller's remorse, but I need to do something. Any suggestions?

You could always just keep the hall of famers and bigger stars, and maybe any other individual cards you like.

If a reduction is required...I like the idea of keeping the Top 50 (by your own standards) from 65-67 & 71, selling the rest. Buying the Top 50 from 68-70...and then if it just doesn't feel right...consider completing them again but in raw, bindered form for the non-Top 50, which should take up a lot less space than all the slabs.

Congrats on the accomplishment...and best of luck in your decision.

I happen to know three guys who are now just keeping the Hall of Famers, and selling the rest. I'm actually thinking about doing this to my 1966 set in 8 & 8.5. Sell the commons and highs and work on 1967 HOF's; I think a set from any year with just the HOF's is the way to go for all practical purposes.

I have noticed that in many relationships people try to control each other.

I can't see how your 9 sets of card can take up that much room. These cards should be pretty certain to grow in value in the future.

Tell the wife to pound sand.

P.S. my ex wife didn't understand my hobby either. Now she's gone and I still have my cards THANK GOD!

Some good advice here. It is probably best for you to cherry-pick your favorites, as mentioned.

You could, of course, raise the bed and store cards under there. That's where my 1989 Topps ungradables are at the moment image

Barry nailed it. My wife says as soon as I'm gone so are all my cards. She has Steve Hart on speed dial. image

How much room dose that many graded set take up and how are you storing them? How much square footage
    are we talking about?

If it's the wife that making you do this just go into here closest and start throwing all her clothes and shoes
that she hasn't worn in the last two years on the bed when she says what are doing just say making room
    for cards.

    Hiya Mark

How about starting with talking to the boss and getting her input - that's what I do with Mary.

Result? I got a 2nd room out of the deal!!!!!!

Can't wait to renovate - next year fer sure.

I'm working on organizing/reorganizing - that might help also. If you have "piles?" Time to do something about it.

Good luck - but start with the wife IMO.

edit: it could also be "how much" you spend that's on her mind also - which may trump any "space" issue?
