My daughter delivered the gameball for the Rangers 4th of July game (with pics)

I've always enjoined sharing some of mine and Maven's adventures over the years, and we had a fun one last night. Although the Rangers ultimately got thrashed in the game itself, we still had a fun time.

We met our "handler" for the evening and were immediately taken to the interview room at the ballpark

image

Next up, we got ushered to the field, where we spent over half an hour hanging out and enjoying the festivities from a tremendous view

Maven with a selfie

image

This is what she was here for, to deliver the gameball and the rosin bag to the pitcher's mound

image

Prior to the National Anthem, we got to enjoy a flyover

image

We were at the end of the Angels team for the Anthem

image

Here's our favorites lined up across the field

image

After the anthem, it was time for Maven to take the stuff to the mound

image

She made the big screen, I teased her about the lack of a last name, kinda like Madonna, Pele, Barney image etc.,

image

Here she is enjoying the moment with the crowd cheering her on

image

After her delivery, we hung around a bit, Elvis is in the house

image

Don't know who this Angel is, but he seemed to be wondering the same about us

image

They tell me this kid can play a little

Despite our squad getting beaten by a couple of touchdowns, we still had a fun daddy/daughter 4th of July image

What a great experience! I have to ask, though - in the picture of the Rangers lined up for the anthem, it looks like one of them (4th from the left) is looking in your direction, sticking his tongue out. Was that meant for you?!

Edited - I think he's actually 6th from the left.

Well said. You can feel the excitement through those pictures Mike. Glad you and Maven had a great time as the final score will become a distant memory to the time you spent on the field together.

Did you tell her that she can date them only after they pass the CPA exam? That should keep you covered for awhile. image

That must have been an awesome experience. Thanks for sharing.

As a Cardinals fan, I immediately recognized David Freese. I was hoping to break it to you who that was. I would have done it very, very gently!

Oh man, as a Rangers fan that has got to sting. I must admit I'm shocked he didn't recognize THAT guy. That was one of the best World Series I ever watched.
