But whose auctions are they bidding on and what kind of auctions?

I easily bid on 100 items a week at least, sometimes much more as I'm working on several fully graded sets that I started from scratch.

When one of the sellers does a set break, I will frequently bid on 100 cards from a set. Think about the 1975 set that was just broken, if someone decided to start that set, they could have easily bid on 400+ items, maybe more and that was just one week.

Not sure what your question or point is here?

ok that's 400 bids a month or (lets say 1 bid per item) on 400 different items. I am guessing that's on the higher end of the number of items an average collector would bid on in one month. In This instance, there are almost five times higher bids and the number of items. all with just one seller. Your example is possible, I agree, so is the chance of you winning the pick 5 tonight, there is always a chance, but it's a very low chance.

what are you suggesting then? I still don't know that I'm confident what you're trying to get at.
