Garage sale score! 1900's Football Player Cabinet Photo

Found this at a sale today. I believe it's from between 1890-1907 based on the nose guard.

If you are interested in some follow up info. on the photos origin I suggest you contact O'Brien Photography. 456 West Main St. Waukesha WI. 53186. Phone (262)547-8108. They may be able to offer an opinion as to the origin/name of the person in your photo. They were established in 1882 so they very well may have some background on the pix. Or the local historical society in Waukesha. You could send a photo copy to them. Good luck on the quest.

Perhaps a photo of a local (Waukesha, WI) Carroll University (previously Carroll College) player from the era? The Pioneers. My alma mater!

    From Wikipedia -

The college football program at Carroll began in the late 1890s.

A notable event in American football history occurred at Carroll on September 5, 1906, when Saint Louis University player Bradbury Robinson, coached by Eddie Cochems, threw the first legal forward pass in football history (though it was first used experimentally in the 1905 Washburn vs. Fairmount football game).
