Notre Dame Autograph Collection

Hey guys. New to this board, but I'm a member of SCF, Blowout Cards among others.

I've been collecting Notre Dame autographs for about 20 years. I just got into ttm'ing a few years ago though. I have around 300 certified Notre Dame autographed cards and around that many more that I've gotten through ttm. My main focus for ttm has been the 1990 Collegiate Collection Notre Dame set. I am looking for 1988 and 1990 team issued Notre Dame sets. If any of you have leads please lmk. Columbia City Collectibles has them but they are $65 a set.

Anyway my main focus for posting here is to see if I can track down any leads on some players in the Collegiate Collection set.

Search on the web and you can probably find someone selling a copy of yheir Notre Dame alumni directory. It's the greatest resource you will find for finding addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, for Notre Dame players.

We don't get them for free, they cost us about $120 if I remember correctly, so don't expect it to be cheap. A new edition comes out about every few years so make sure you get the most updated edition. I think the last one was last year but I did NOT buy it so it won't do any good to ask me for it.

Also, search this forum by my username and keywords Notre Dame and you will find a thread where I am working on a 88 team signed set. IF thats the set you need I probably have a set hanging around here somewhere (unsigned). Let me know

I saw your thread on your 88 Irish project. That is indeed one of the sets I'm looking for. There's quite a few guys in that set I have addresses for already that don't have any other cards. They made another set like that one for the 1990 team as well. Just lmk if you wanna part with one of the 88 sets.

Mailman just dropped me off some new certified auto'd Irish cards.

Added Shane Walton and Vagas Ferguson to my 2013 UD Notre Dame Autographs set. I now have 42 of the 83.

Also got 2015 UD Inscriptions Cody Riggs autograph, 2014 Leaf Draft Autographs of Tommy Rees and Bennett Jackson, 2009 Press Pass Saturday Signatures Dave Casper Autograph, 2011 UD College Football Legends Raghib Ismail Autograph, 2014 SP Authentics Troy Niklas Autograph, 2003 Press Pass Authentics Shane Walton Autograph and 2011 UD Ian Williams Autograph.

Welcome to the boards! It's always nice to meet a fellow ND fan. I have been collecting the 1990 Notre Dame set for the past 7 or 8 years and have over 600-700 cards signed from this set...including many duplicates of the game, bowl, championship cards. I definitely have duplicates of some of the players that you're looking for. If you're interested, I can check exactly which cards I have and we can go from there?

Got a couple of nice ttm returns today.

Tim Grunhard signed one of his 2013 UD Notre Dame cards for me. Sent a National Champions insert as well but he returned it unsigned.

Vagas Ferguson signed a 2013 UD Notre Dame All Time Alumni card as well as an All Time Alumni Trio card and a National Champions duo.

Had a great day for Notre Dame ttm's yesterday.

Added Tom Schoen, Tom Gatewood and Ted Gradel to my signed 1990 Collegiate Collection set.

Also got these for my 2013 UD Notre Dame ttm set; Tom Schoen, Tom Gatewood base and All American, Derek Brown (2x) and Jeff Burris (2x).

Ted Gradel signed an index card and wrote me a really nice letter back.

Gatewood signed an index and added 7 different inscriptions to it.

These cards will never leave my collection. Rocket was my 1st childhood sports hero. I remember being so upset when he went to the CFL because I wouldn't get to see him play.

Haven't updated in a while but have gotten a few more in.

Robin Weber signed 3 different 1990 Collegiate Collection cards (1973 Sugar Bowl, 1975 Orange Bowl and 1973 USC) for me and also included 2 signed 8x10's. One is of Tom Clements throwing the Hail Mary to close the 73 Championship game against Alabama with Weber down field. The other is of Weber coming down with the ball right in front of Bear Bryant. Really awesome of Mr Weber to include these and front the extra postage.

Kevin Hardy signed his 1990 Collegiate Collection card and his 2013 UD Notre Dame card for me.

Larry Moriarty signed 2 1990 Collegiate Collection cards and 3 index cards.

Irv Smith signed his 2013 UD Notre Dame card and a 1990 Collegiate Collection 1990 Orange Bowl card.

Walt Patulski signed his 2013 UD Notre Dame card.

Bob Thomas signed a couple of 1990 Collegiate Collection cards (1973 Sugar Bowl and 1973 USC).

Ron Powlus signed his 2013 UD Notre Dame card and the Play Like a Champion Today card from the set.

Still haven't got back from Allen Pinkett. Sent to him back in May. I've seen a ton of successes from him since then. Sent him out another lor today.

Also sent to John Huarte, Lou Holtz and Reggie Brooks today.

As always, I'm looking for signed Notre Dame cards if anyone has any to trade.

just found this thread, I too was working on the CC ND set TTM a while back just sent out two more requests, one to Holtz. I really hope I hit that one, I heard back form him years ago that he wouldn't sign that card for some reason.

I'm slowly getting back into the set as I had peaked on sending the cards a few years back, I want getting any returns and didn't have any more good addresses.

I may have some doubles, I'll check and PM you.

pictures would be great. I know there used to be a thread for this set with pics but that was long ago.

I'm at that point now where I don't really have anyone to send to. I still have Alan Page to send a request to, but after that who knows. I've sent so many of these cards out and never got them back.

I received Lou holtz back this week. I had tried several times a couple of years ago to get the CC card signed but he wouldn't sign it. He did now and it is great.

I got 2 returns this week. Finally got Rocky Bleier after 3 attempts over 2 years. He signed his 1990 CC card as well as his 2013 UD Notre Dame card.

This is an authentic signed plaque created by the Notre dame University commemorating the 1977 team that won the 1978 Cotton Bowl autographed by the whole team and coach.
It comes with a JSA COA.
It is 26" X 18"
The main picture is a print of the Notre Dame Dome.
It signed by around 140 people including Joe Montana (Tom Brady's mentor) and Ed "Moose" Krause.
Try finding those 2 signatures on the same item, let alone with the rest
of these legends.
It was singed with a green marker, when first introduced on the market,
in honor of their half time jersey change to the throw back green.
THIS IS NOT A COLLECTOR'S ITEM, IT IS A MUSEUM PIECE!

I have contacted experts on the value, some said 64K-100K because of its rarity and historic value. Others have said they can't even put a price on it because nothing like it has ever sold before. My plaque has one of the first signatures Joe ever signed along with it is his original full name which changed when he joined the NFL. That along with Ed "Moose" Krause and coach Dan Devine along with so many other NFL superstars and Notre Dame legends. The plaques were numbered to 1000 so the artistic value of the print is added in. Only the first six were signed for the administration. The first was signed in the Administrator's office and then 5 more in the locker room. The 1st 5 are actual signatures, the rest after are prints. The other 4 were destroyed! The Players, some of which I contacted, never received one.

There has never been one for sale or even on the internet.
