**SOLD**1888 G$1 NGC MS62PL- Gorgeous Proof Like Gold Dollar

This is a lovely, very proof like, gold dollar. This date is extremely tough to find with the PL designation and Heritage shows only 6 PL coins, in any grade, have been sold since NGC began assigning proof like coins 11 years ago. Of those 6 coins 2 have been MS62PL and sold for $1495 in 2007 and $977 in 2010.
This coin was real tough for me to image so my pics are not the best, so I will try to describe it. Both obverse and reverse have very PL fields with the devices a bit frosted, but not as frosty as most true proofs have. Both sides are very well struck with no clash marks. The obverse does have a couple of hairlines and small ticks commensurate with the grade. The reverse is much better and would likely grade a 64 on its own.
A coin that looks like a proof for a lot less money.
I do have some other pics that show the fields as almost black when tilted in the light. PM if interested.
