Last month HERITAGE sold one for just under $5,300.00.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Those are some amazing prices realized for relatively modern cards.
I never would have thought a PSA 9 Jordan RC would ever exceed $2500 in price let alone the levels they are hitting today.
I remember maybe 6-7 years ago being at a Chicago Sun-Times card show and having a dealer walk up to me and flip me a '86 Jordan PSA 9 for $900. At the time they were selling for $1100-1250 range. The dealer needed some quick money for another deal he was working on. I bought that Jordan, came home, put it on ebay with a $1250 BIN and it sold within a couple of days. I thought I did great on that quick flip. In hindsight I guess I should've bought and held the card. Oh well, those were the good old days.
Three years ago I crossed over a BGS 9.5 Isiah Thomas RC to a PSA 10. Sold that card for $600. I thought I did very well at the time. Today, that Thomas 10 is selling for over $1500. It's kind of hard to believe when you consider the pops are rising. It looks like the popularity and demand of 1986 Fleer is outpacing the supply and rising pops.
That is quite surprising seeing how 10s go for only 3 times that amount.
Granted other 9s, albeit ones with worse centering, still go for around $3K. Looks like this one is an anomaly because of it's nice centering and that it was sold via Probstein.
Heritage and other auction houses that sell off eBay tend to realize higher prices than those "common" sellers who sell on eBay.
<< <i>In 10-15 yrs, they will be selling for $10,000. >>
Highly doubt it. It's really "only" a 3500 card today, and there are tons of 9's today and more coming. I just can't see this push going on forever, unless money continues to be cheap, real estate continues to climb and the stock market doesn't go through a correction.
I do think that lots of folks feel that there is no top end for a card like this and that's why prices are exploding, but I call BS. I bet there are lots of guys that are borrowing to buy cards like this, or have an unhealthy amount of their retirement tied up in cards that they believe will continue to appreciate. It won't take much of a correction in either housing values, the stock market or interest rates for cards like this to really level off, or even move backwards a bit.

One thing you have to remember is that there aren't an unlimited amount of these out there, even if it seems like there might be. Especially ones that are premium for their grade.
Overtime, cards will be lost or destroyed and while the pop report might say a certain amount exist, in reality, that number may be lower ... and lower ... as time goes on.
