eBay has gone ruthlessly rogue.

Anybody here remember the unusually generous eBay seller promotions offered early this month ? They started a succession of offers for limited time Final Value Fee discounts in the form of a cap, regardless of value, with certain conditions on style of listing (no store listings qualified, existing auction/fixed price listings had to be launched during the time frame of the offer- yada, yada, yada).
I accepted their offer when they reduced the FVF cap from $50 to $10, regardless of item price, which made it very attractive (too attractive for eBay apparently) to list high price items. I listed two items after registering through a button eBay provided in a direct message, as well as in an email that I verified as legit. So fast forward to tonight, when I'm reviewing the progress of my listings. I found a lack of info indicating in my summary that these two items were included in the promo, so I called eBay CS. . . After about 20 minutes of on and off ignore (hold) for the drone, I get an "I'm sorry but it looks like your items were not qualified for this promotion" with no explanation for why it ain't so. So I've ended my listings (but not before revising their descriptions with some deep thoughts about eBay), at best eBay will grab some token listing designer fees - a whopping sixty cents. image This has been a public service announcement. image
ended listings. buh-bye eBay !

Do you have an ebay store?

They have been unpredictable lately, and also make it too easy for scammers to get over on honest sellers.

I guess that's the price of admission....

I sold some coins during the promotion and only had to pay the $20 FVF on items that were over $1000 each

FVF promo clearly stated that it did not cover relisting an item and only covered listings created during the promo. To have a relisted item covered the work around was to create a new listing by using "sell similar" option.

These were not relistings. They were newly created.

Then I would be talking to an ebay account supervisor. Tell the drone you want to speak with a supervisor in the account department.
