The 2015-W Burnished AGEs...

Is Liberty's nose supposed to be flattened? Do they use the same dies and change the date, year to year?

Do we know how long the burnishing lasts on a die, before the finish starts to lose the burnished effect and become more like the regular unc surfaces??

What's your opinion of this year's production of the 2015-W Burnished Gold Eagles?

    That's the thread.

So, the planchets are supposedly burnished, but the dies are the same as regular uncirculated production dies? This is interesting because my perception has always been that there is some difference in the appearance of the "burnished uncirculated" coins.

I guess it's time for some close-up comparisons to some regular uncs and to some previous issues.

Has anyone noticed any differences in the 2015-W coins, as compared to the last few years' production? Yes? No?
