This is what shill bidding looks like, right?

  • Could be, though not dispositive. Looks like you would have been fine if you had sniped.

This looks like typical final bidding other then the bid percentage.

    Is this a popular seller?

Seller looks okay (3500+ feedback, member since 97).

It was the bid percentage that looked really wacky to me.

Oout of 141 total bids placed, this bidder placed 127 with this one seller. That's a pretty revealing stat right there, though shilling a $14 item would be pretty extreme.

ETA: Maybe this bidder just really really likes this seller.

It's a case break, so I'd assume there's some minimum breakeven point that every seller is trying to hit.

Not sure why someone would shill a card at this price point with a $2 bump but it could easily happen.

Do a search by the sellers recent sales and see if you see what appears to be abnormal bidding activity.

I checked recent sales. Didn't see anything that jumped out.

It looked like the underbidder was bidding on this case break specifically. He was bidding $9.00 and $12.00 on every auction.

    Dunno.

Look like shilling to me. He went until he knew what your final bid was - he knew could have won it at $14.47 but stoped at that point.

Everyone remember the thread a week or so ago about people selling low value cards with free shipping for under a buck?

Guess what that does...builds your feedback..

Why you ask? So you can shill your own auctions with a high FB account instead of the suspicious low FB accounts
