The man is on fire this year as he blasts his 13th of the year. What does this mean for his cards. Wil they go up for the next few weeks and then drop down or is all forgive and forget?
Kinda weird also how Jeter was the only Yankess ever to hit 3000 in a Yankees uniform and with a HR none the less and now Arod does the same.

<< <i>If you look closely at the replay, he has a syringe sticking out of his buttock. >>
Nuuhh-uuhhhhh
I don't feel that this will have any impact on his cards, unfortunately. The damage is done, even though I appreciate the fact that he's giving it his all out there and helping us to win ball games. He's not a HOF'er and I think his cards are at where they are going to be.
Stuff we all dreamed about as kids..

<< <i>I'm suprised the forum police aren't screaming for not moving this into the "luke warm" Sports Talk forum.

He is a HOFer he just won't get voted in by Baseballs purist that stick their heads in the sand and say Baseball doesn't need change..

He is on pace to hit 31.26 home runs this year and Pujols is on pace to hit 47.95. Obviously anything can happen but clearly these totals are more in line with historical norms.
It looks like a lot of players are off the juice and if Arod can perform at a reasonably high level at this stage of his career I think that reinforces he was always really good.
I collected his minor league cards when he debuted in the Upper Deck set and had high hopes for that foil card!

Exactly. It is impossible to know when he started juicing but he was a tremendous hitter his first couple of years in the bigs when he was a string bean. Nobody will ever find out how many players were juicing during the roid era but you have to believe a high percentage were. His numbers are much better than any player from this era (Bonds?) and he faced pitchers on the sauce. While I am not a big A-Rod fan I think he belongs in the HOF.
I also agree that his card value will stay status quo. Unlike Rose, A-Rod is a villian that the fans have turned their back on.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

All you have to do is look at the back of the cards and see the players over the years weights explode and you will know when it happened.
Guys like Don Mattingly weighed 185 pounds so it should have tipped everyone off when guys started weighing 215 to 275.
I bet Arod can weigh 225 with no roids. I just checked after I typed that and he weighs 225. I knew I wouldn't be far off. He is 6'3 so that is 3 pounds an inch. Not a crazy weight for a stud athlete.
This guy was always the best player and I think there is a drastically greater chance that others that played during the exact same time were on the stuff too.
It's also very possible, maybe even likely, that Arod's use of PEDs dates back to his teens.

<< <i>He has the stats, no doubt about it. But zero credibility or respect and he may be even more unlikable than Bonds. >>
Agree with Tim 100%, and this is coming from a Yankee fan.
