Would it make sense to create a thread to help PCGS in their pricing of various slabbed coins?

Maybe PCGS can give out awards for the best pricing information?

Maybe I can get an award (lets say 1000 free submissions&#128516image for suggesting this idea????????

    No.

PCGS has their own scheme and any variation could cost folks to think they are losing money.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

For most material, auction results are the best guide.

For areas in which the Price Guide seems off, I believe emailing Jaime Hernandez, PCGS Price Guide Editor, can be helpful.
You need to send lots of helpful information along, as I did for the 31-S Merc a couple of years ago.

I reached out to PCGS a couple of times and my messages were not addressed...then months later after creating a thread
and emailing again they made the Price Guide adjustments that were needed. I never did get a reply
or simple thank you though. I wasn't looking for anything but a simple acknowledgement would have been nice.

The 1931-D Mercury Dime needs serious attention right now. I will email Jaime.
PCGS can start by dropping the MS67FB 31-D price by 42.5% to reflect auction results. The thing has tanked over the last couple of years.

These are popular semi-keys and I am a little surprised that the price guide has not been in line with auction results.
But I think a lot of this is done manually so based on that things slip through the cracks. Maintaining something like this
can be a ton of work.

There are a lot of coins that have tanked over the last several years especially when it comes to the price guide and what they are actually selling for at this time.

I am curious what everyone thinks. What percentage of collectors do you think participate in the auctions? I would say it is probably around 25%...especially on series like Merc's and Morgans as mentioned. My feelings are many of the auction results are more on a wholesale level than retail Heck I buy coins all the time at auction and turn around and sell them for a pprofit.
