1983 Fleer Cello Case Variation

First time that I have ever seen this particular product before.

1983 Fleer Cellos

The good people at Fleer sure came up with a wide array of packaging for their 1983 Fleer baseball card product. One of my favorite things about this hobby is the variation aspect of it. Certain issues of 1980s baseball cards afford us the opportunity to collect an unusually large number of variants of unopened product packaging for the same base card set. Makes me wonder what else is out there as far as box/case variations that I have not seen before. Curious if anyone is, or has ever been, in possession of an example of this product.

We used to buy the cards to get the bubble gum, and if a card wasn't a Hero such as Al Kaline we would put the cards in the spokes of our bicycles!

Yeah ... nothing like the taste of the old Topps stick bubblegum ... tastes like ... childhood.

To keep it coin related ... maybe the US Mint's next commemorative series can be commemorating collecting hobbies ... stamps, cards, Beanie Babies ... and coins!

Perhaps it makes no difference, but I doubt all of the packs are original to that case. I think there were a few packs missing and someone purchased individual packs to complete the case.

The vast majority of the packs have no price stickers, but I see at least three packs with REVCO $0.49 stickers, and one with a "4 for 1.00" sticker from a different store.

A sealed case would be a different matter and presumably have higher value than an opened case for this very reason.

But as I said, maybe it doesn't make a difference in value. I haven't collected sports cards in several decades.
