TTM Autograph Project: Feats, Plays, Achievements (All sports) UPDATED: 7/17/15

I had asked for ideas not too long ago about amazing feats, plays, achievements or some unique fact about a player. I started mailing out index cards a few weeks ago and they are starting to come in. Thought about making customs, but I like the look of just a blank card with full inscriptions by the players. I have about 75 letters mailed out, but if you have any ideas, lemme know! -Corey

Row 1: (Left) Kevin Moen, Cal Vs Stanford Band (Right) Don Larsen, World Series Perfect Game
Row 2: (Left) John Paciorek, The One Game Wonder (Right) Bill Stoneman, Two No Hitters
image

Row 1: (Left) Ron Blomberg, 1st DH (bummer he wouldn't inscribe, even with a fee) (Right) Hal Smith, 1960 World Series hero
Row 2: (Left) Bob Montgomery, Last MLB Player Without A Batting Helmet (Right) Dick Bosman, No Hitter Vs A's

image

Row 1: (Left) Ron Hansen, Unassisted Triple Play (Right) Carl Erskine, Two No Hitters
Row 2: Mark Moseley, Only Kicker to Win MVP

I also got a card back from Willie O'Ree (First black hockey player), but he won't sign index cards. Al Downing (gave up #715 to Aaron) also won't sign index cards.

Some more have been trickling in. I wanted to update it before I get too many in. I've gotten back a couple of signed cards (Willie O'Ree, Kevin Mench) instead of index cards. Also found out that Henri Richard is no longer signing due to medical issues. A few guys I've gotten back haven't left inscriptions. My wife has an old type writer that I think I'll use to just put in the inscription. That will at least give it some character. I'll do that down the road though, the typewriter is in storage.

Row 1: (Left) Mike Eruzione, Miracle On Ice (Right) Dave Nelson Stealing 2nd, 3rd, Home in same inning
Row 2: (Left) Eric Heiden, Five golds in 1980 Olympics (Right) Mike Stratton, The Hit Heard Round The World (AFL Championship)
    image

Row 1: (Left) Dave Moreland, No Hitter Vs Indians (Right) Ed Halicki, No Hitter Vs Mets
Row 2: (Left) Benny Fistefano, Last Lefty Catcher (Right) George Culver No Hitter Vs Phillies

I got this one back, but for the life of me I cannot figure out who it's from. It came from Texas, Maybe I didn't log it in Sportscollector, I don't know. I really should right the athletes name on the back of the envelope or something so I know who I'm writing. Learn from my mistakes.

Finally I wrote to Rick Wise, who requests $5, I got a note back saying he refuses to sign index cards, and will not do any inscription about his no hitter. He kept my $5 and didn't include a signed card or anything. Considering writing him back just on principal, $5 isn't the end of the world, but that's frustrating.

That's a bum move by Wise.

Got some more to share. I need to keep tabs on some of these a little better, labeling envelopes, keeping records of feats. I essentially cranked out 75 letter in two weeks and mailed em off. I've got a bunch more I'm gonna start writing, I'll be sure to correct some of those mistakes.

Row 1: Mark Ryal, he returned two cards, one pen, one sharpie. He did the inscription on one side and signed the other side
Row 2: (Left) Ed Charles, Stole home to win game, (Right) Bobby Richardson, Only player to ever get World Series MVP for the losing team
    image

Row 1: (Left) Don Baylor, Three consecutive WS, Three different teams, (Right) Wilson Alvarez, No hitter Vs Orioles
Row 2: (Left) Phil Mickelson, 3x Masters champ (Right) Brandi Chastain, 1999 World Cup winning goal
    image

Row 1: (Left) AJ Duhe, "The Mud Bowl", (Right) Jeremiah Castille, "The Fumble"
Row 2: (Left) Steve Christie, "The Comeback" (Right) John Smith "The Snow Plow Game"
    image

Row 1: (Left) Christian Laettner, "The Shot" (Right) Bobby Plump, better known as the real life Jimmy Chitwood from Hoosiers
Row 2: (Left) Greg Louganis, inscribed all medals (Right) I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THIS IS. PLEASE HELP!!!

just a hint to help you ID returns, on every SASE I send out (when mailing 3x5's), I simply put the initials (very small) of the person I mailed it to on the backside of the envelope toward the bottom...

    good luck!
