the cards are very inexpensive, usually only a buck or two each. rarely will i go over $20 for a card, but if i do i will notate it in the post.
some will be recent pick ups, others will be stuff i've had for a while.
there is no rhyme or reason, the cards will most likely never be graded and will not advertise the thread.
will try to add a few cards here and there and hopefully a few folks just stumble upon it when they are bored.
just didn't want to post it in the sports/main forum and ruffle any feathers.
hope someone enjoys it at least...

i know this card doesn't look like much, but it's kinda what i love about these cheap tobacco cards. well besides the aesthetics of them, it's the history lesson that goes along w/ them.
anyways this card is of a balloon accident of two gentleman named: de rozier and his assistant romain. anyways, they crossed the english channel a time or two but where looking for a way to do it faster, ie create more buoyancy. so, they had the bright idea to make a ballon w/ 2 different chambers, a top and bottom. fill the top one w/ hot air as usual and then used hydrogen in the bottom chamber. well needless to say the weather turned on them and knocked them around causing leaks in the chamber. well fire and hydrogen don't mix too well and thus they earned the title of:
first folks to die in an aviation accident!
in a ironic twist of fate, the king originally wanted to use 2 criminals to fly first, but rozier insisted that the honor should not go to the criminals and insisted he do it himself.
