The sale occurred about 4 months ago. It was initially listed at $60,000.
The same seller had a 1967 cello with Mantle on top and a 1967 cello with a Seaver RC on top (also both slabbed). The source on all three of these packs was unknown. The Ryan RC pack could not be tied back to the biggest known source of 1968 cellos (Fritsch).
All those specific aforementioned star packs were bad for reasons discussed on these boards years ago. They were fabricated. I think it's safest to say that for any new eyes to be sufficiently warned, but in the interest of further discourse with friends here, best to leave it at that.

edit: there is one listed on ebay right now for right at the same price. same guy that had the 68 nolan ryan 10 (card, not pack)
