*Grade IN* 1825 bust half O.117 r-4

What kind of premium does this R.4 bring? the coin is pretty attractive...just trying to get a ballpark.

Graded AU53 at ANACS with the O.117 attribution!

there seem to be higher grade examples out there making appearances, so unless your coin is exceptional, it will not likely command a premium

Without pictures, I must take your word for the correct attribution. Certainly the O-117 R4 is worth a premium over a common marriage. Added advantage is that few have sold in recent years at the AU level.

for sure a premium coin. dunno how much but a graded r4 overton in that grade with that look is good fodder to have.

R.4 draws a fairly small premium. There do seem to be more people doing these in AU, so that might get a bump. I do VF/XF so if someone upgrades...drop me a note on the old one.

If the luster is there figure PCGS AU50. Otherwise XF45. The color might hold it back too.

I wouldn't pay much of a premium for this R4. Somewhere around $450 feels right. It'd have to be crossed which I'd factor into the purchase price. Yellow ANACS does nothing for me.

Because it would cost 50+$ vs less than $20?

The color looks okay, nothing i would go crazy over, but it does have luster accurate with a pcgs 50+.

I suspect the "ANACS discount" when selling will prove to be much more than the $30 price difference in grading fees.

I also believed as lance mentioned there was a chance pcgs wouldnt straight grade it, in which case it would have been a total loss...99.99% of what i send out goes to pcgs, but every now and then i would rather have a grade and proper attribution vs take a chance on a details grade. I think it should come back 50 at pcgs but i couldnt guarantee it to myself.

exactly the same reasoning a potential buyer will use when making an offer or passing on the coin.

For proper attribution, people here (and their wonderful websites) are the best source.
