Is there a trick to seeing what cards are on top/bottom of unopened packs?

I have some unopened wax boxes (nothing special) that aren't wrapped and I'd like to know basically what the titles asks. I tried looking at the top and bottom and couldn't make anything out.

Some packs are easier than others. A strong light source helps. Here are 2 1987 Donruss wax packs with Bo Jackson on the back.

I have an unopened 84 opc baseball box that's not wrapped and I looked at the back of a few packs and couldnt even make out any letters. Maybe I'll give it another shot. Thanks.
