Check out the new PSA Cert Verification Phone App

I just scanned my first PSA cert with my iPhone using the new PSA Cert phone app.
This is so cool.
Way to go PSA!
This is another reason PSA is #1

I couldn't get the android link to work but it would be great if there was an android app to scan the bar code on a cert to add items to your set registry. This could work similarly to Red Laser or any of the myriad bar code scanner apps

  • I like it.

    1. It's an effective barcode scanner and that is useful for helping to verify the authenticity of cards. Other apps I had for this were much less able to quickly snap the code and identify the cert.

    2. It's linked to the PSA database, so once you snap the barcode, it pulls up the card information and population. That will be nice for quick pop checks when I'm away from my computer, at shows, etc.

messed around w/ it a little today...hopefully still in semi-beta.

redlaser works a lot faster more user friendly, but I do like that it pulls up cert info / pop report.

    suggestions:

don't like the clouded out area or the green box. something similar to wells fargo mobile deposit window would be easier. just corner brackets.
would like the option to turn the camera light on or better yet have it turn on automatically in a dimly lit room.
    scan faster

most importantly...the option to hit a button and have it added to your set.

i like that they are attempting though!

just came across this, since it is 6 months old and I have never heard of it , I figure others may have missed it too. I downloaded it from the apple app store directly

I found it very useful and easy to scan a cert right off my ipad before purchasing.

I like the idea if I could just use this to add to my sets or my registry. I have so many cards I haven't added because it is a pain to type them in.

couple other ideas , I would like to see the pop of the grade as well as the total population subnmitted. another thing is that online it now shows if there is a hologram on the holder in the verification screen, that would be nice to see in the app also

From an email PSA sent out today:

In the coming months, PSA will be focusing on going completely mobile. We are hopeful that offering a mobile-friendly website, in addition to more PSA-related Apps, will improve your collecting experience.
  • Hopefully it's just as successful as this forum transition was. Talk about the wrong time to join! image

Used to read the board a ton however the train certainly seems to be slowing down. Next stop is Ghost town
