The official Archives and FI nest 2015 Thread

Both hit yesterday. I pulled my first Kris Bryant auto in finest. These are tough to build sets. Anyone bust any?

I have a pair of Archives due to arrive tomorrow. I am planning to rip one this weekend if all works out.

    Nice hit on the Bryant.

Just arrived. Here's the first pack opened. Stoked on Puig.

What else did you get. I would be interested in a trade. Thanks

First off...gimmick or not, these cards are cool. I'm a sucker for new players in old designs. Also love getting HOFers in packs...even if largely worthless.

The 57 Brett is just awesome.

Did not do well on autos. Vina, Sonny Gray, Jose Cruz and Jose Cruz Jr.

Also got 2 silvers and a gold.

Draft Pick Bumgarner, Trout, Sele, and Wong that I can remember.

Still need to figure SPs and such.

Planning to try to do base, plus 68 inserts and Draft Picks.

But looks like Bryant is SSP so that'll be a tough one.

I opened three boxes and got two Jose Cruz Jr. autos. That's just stupid. I guess you got both father and son? I'm very disappointed in the whole release. I didn't buy any last year, but when compared to 2012 and 2013 the inserts are incredibly crappy--1990 again, really, and for two different insert sets? What happened to using designs from other sports and calling on fun insert sets from past sets? The golds and silvers are just paper versions instead of the refractor-ish versions they've done before, and the autos are almost all on designs from last year instead of the mix of years they've used before. This was a really, really lazy effort by Topps. I like the designs of the base cards and the 1957 cards do look great. But several of the 1983s are in an unreadable yellow. And the short prints are ridiculous. Didn't get any in my three boxes. I ordered the boxes when the sell sheets were advertising a 300 card base set with no short prints, thinking it would be easy to make the set. I'm not even going to try now and will always feel like it's incomplete. Oh well, lesson learned.

The yellow 83s are ridiculous. Agree silver and gold are junk. Not a fan of all the NNOFs either.

Dig the base, but at 90/box tough to buy any/much more.

Especially with the key RC being SSP.

The Bryant SSP base is in the $230-$250 range right now, which won't hold, but has caused me to wonder if 2015 products will be good bets to hold unopened similar to 2011. 2011 update is $250 a box now and that is strictly held up by Trout base and parallels.

I'm going to resist temptation and not get into the Archives set this year. They look cool for sure, but I end up spending way too much money trying to complete all the parallel and insert sets.

Anyone need inserts of SP's. Looking for autos.

    Thanks

I'm ready. Completed 1 base set. 2 Hobby, 4 Blasters, and some retail.

1 SP in all of that. Odds on SPs are so ridiculous. 1 SP per 3 Hobby boxes (70 packs). Just bananas. Very turned off by that so won't be chasing SPs, nor buying any more of this product. Does nobody at Topps do math?

I'll have my insert needs shortly.

All four autos, SP (Cruz), and doubles of base and inserts are available for trade.

Looking for the 1995 Finest Throwback Refractors numbered to /25, /5 and /1. I think Topps may have screwed up on the backs of these cards, though? For instance, Albert Pujols is listed as 94F-04 on the back.

Was tempted, just seemed priced too high.

Bought blasters last year and didn't get enough to keep my attention.

Do like the base card year selection.

Topps stick with the modern card stock, or roll back the thicker stock? Just curious, that's just becomes another "con" for me, but they look like fun.

    Need some more scans.....

Bought one blaster on the way back home from a football case rip, pulled the Bryant SP. Awesome.

Wow. Nice pull. Way to beat those odds. 1 SP per 6 Blasters and you score the Bryant off one.

    Great pit stop.

    Congrats.

Saw and grabbed one Wal-Mart blaster. I like the set. Can't find them in retail, though. And they are too expensive for Hobby.

    Pulled a Bryant Auto redemption.

They must be loaded, because I usually don't find those in a blaster.
