Wild finish to an 1867 Indian Head Coin

As I was able to procure this coin off ebay for a small fee, I felt compelled to
grab it for its odd finish, whether it be from environmental damage or a combination
of affects from storage. It certainly is interesting, at least to me. Hope you enjoy the

I've never seen a beach-dug cent that looked like that, but seanq might have a point about it being some kind of environmental damage. I'm noticing the "pimples" around the N in ONE.
Too bad, really, 'cause it looks like it would've otherwise had pretty strong details, and that's of course a somewhat better date.
