recent "accidental" purchases, part of a Canadian collection

Recently I purchased a small collection, mainly Canadian coins but with a nice mix of others, including a few interesting US coins.
Below I have posted 2 of them, with a few others to follow later.
Can anyone please be brave enough and attempt a grade for these 2 below?
My main interest is Canadian coins 1858 to 1967, but mainly Queen Victoria.

2 appears to be UNC and is a 1917 D Type 1
I'd think the 17D T1 qtr is at least AU58 FH from the pics provided, and possibly MS.

I certainly don't see anything weak anout that strike. With imagination she has a nice n**ple!
