2 hand collated sets bought in 1986 by a primarily baseball card collector and put away for almost 30 years. What lies inside the cellophane wrapped sets sold by the local card store in 1986. An offcenter or dinged Jordan? A PSA 10 Jordan? A PSA 10 Johnny Moore? Might be time to open and see what lies inside. Or maybe wait until 2016, 30 year anniversary. Some other 70s sets bought at same time and never opened either.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I suspect the MJ is there, but nice to confirm. Also, nice to know general condition of all, as it then may be worth seeing what's in the second set.
I'd love to see what's inside.
Good luck whatever you do!
As mentioned nothing is gained from leaving this wrapped, if anything the corners are being damaged more by handling them as they are.
If these are yours OP then it is time to open them instead of playing a guessing game.

Cool though, but a nearly riskless rip, IMHO.

I wouldn't hesitate to bust these open! The thrill to see the centering, corners, and edges would be just as equal to ripping the packs
I'd believe you know the sequence though beforehand haha
Reminds me of a 1977 Topps Baseball set that I picked up. Made straight from vending and then wrapped in wax paper
Of course it says in pencil "MINT" lol

<< <i>Those Kareems are way off center. If that shop is still open, you should see if you can get a refund. >>
That was hilarious!
OP- Seems like a silly question to me....I'm amazed they aren't ripped already.
Thanks,

<< <i>I don't get the debate. You're not ripping anything. These weren't factory sealed. They are opened, handled product and when you go through them they will still be opened, handled product. There is zero to lose by going thru them and zero to gain by leaving them in some random dude's Saran Wrap. In short (too late for that): let's see what you've got! >>
Exactly. I expect scans in this thread by tomorrow morning

And just the fact that the word "MINT" was even used back in 1986 like this seems weird.
I say one Jordan is missing with other stars
And if my calculations are correct, the one Jordan is severely OC t/b
Obviously a guaranteed let down. Don't rip now, it will be mistake
Schrödinger's cat is a famous illustration of the principle in quantum theory of superposition, proposed by Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. Schrödinger's cat serves to demonstrate the apparent conflict between what quantum theory tells us is true about the nature and behavior of matter on the microscopic level and what we observe to be true about the nature and behavior of matter on the macroscopic level -- everything visible to the unaided human eye.
It could be said that the set contains both a PSA 10 Jordan and no Jordan at all.
Edit: But, yeah, rip it, bro!

I thought this was funny.
But in seriousness, you should actually open the packs.

Wow, a forum that has both physics and cards, love it!
