    It looks like a mutilated coin to me. Post-mint damage, in my opinion.

    Might be acid treated.
    Can you get an accurate weight of it ?

    I agree with it having been submerged in a acidic liquid.

    I wonder if it was ever a coin to begin with. I've found white-metal cast replicas of modern coins that looked like this. Often they have traces of a loop mounted on the top, from where they were no doubt once attached to a charm bracelet.



    Sure, this could be a real (but really messed-up) 1973 Canadian cent, but I wonder.
