I Have Been The Focus Of Much Humor As A Result

of my pursuing the 1956 Elvis cards for my wife's set. Well guess who just listed his complete set in the registry?

Branca !

I need to get some of my wife's set slabbed, register it, and be #2 next to Branca!

Oh, the bragging rights!

Wow, Branca's 100 percent complete set gives great legitamacy to the set. But he's number one on the Registry. Zardoz, why are you the bridesmaid and not the bride with this set? Your wife won't stand for that image.

  • I am doomed to be the perpetual bridesmaid. The best I can ever hope for is #2 in the 1970 Kelloggs set as well. LOL

What's scary is that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to my obtuse collecting habits. Rest assured that I honestly do have some mainstream sets. Honest!

PS. Gilligan's Island isn't me, but I do have Fleer's McHale's Navy and Gomer Pyle sets, including the highest graded. Let me be honest...the ONLY cards graded! LOL

ZARDOZ - The '56 Elvis set is one of the priemier non sport sets of the last 50 years (along w/ Mars Attacks), so I don't think making fun at you and the Mrs Zardoz for collecting the set was on target. Geez! theres so much to poke fun at you, why waste it on a nice '56 Elvis set image ...jay

Now your Canseco obsession on the other hand...image
  • Jay

Could we adjust our phraseology to:

    "Ex-Canseco obsession"

Sorry! I don't think so! Once obsessed w/ Canseco, always obsessed w/ Canseco. If you think the card values are down now! Wait till his tell all book will be released. He already stated that 85% of all Baseball players take some form of steroids. So if he tries to damage the Baseball world, you can kiss off that small % chance that he had for HOF entry...So Sorry!...jay

    Yup,

He's already been banned from the Newark Bears Stadium. Think about it - not allowed in Newark... How much farther can he fall....

  • Mr. Z,

You were ready to plunk down a 20-spot for this lot of Cansecos; seems like the obsession is alive and well . . .

    Canseco Lot

But in the interest of full disclosure, I must note that I have a lot of 200 1989 Donruss Ken Hills sitting at home, each in a top-loader. Anyone interested? Anyone?

Nnpopp, Zardoz was clearly trying to throw everyone off his true collecting trail. Notice his bid retraction. That was an obvious ploy if I ever saw one image.
  • As a result of what? I thought you were the focus of much humor period.image

No thanks nnpopp. I've got a few for sale too though if someone would like to buy a nice lot.

Working on 1976 Kellogg's, PSA 9 or 10. Feel free to send mail to My Email with any offers on 76 Kellogg's. Go Washington Redskins, Go Oakland A's!!!!!!!!!
  • Gemmint,

Hmmm . . . Zardoz's bid of $70 bid would equal about 36 cents per card. Which is somewhat ironic, because 36 also happens to be the number of each card in the 1987 Topps set manufactured for every man, woman, child, dog, cat and insect in the United States. I'm thinking of sending my 1987 Topps vending cases to Habitat for Humanity for them to use as bricks; giving back to the community is the least we can do as collectors . . .
  • Hey

I hit the seven instead of the two, hence the bid retraction. I might be crazy, but I'm not stupid! Then again, I did bid on the lot in the first place.

Perhaps I need to search my inner soul.image
