Beautiful , Subtly toned 1830 Capped Bust Half in PCGS AU53.
This may be the prettiest AU53 I have ever seen. Should it have gotten a 55? It has a very sharp strike.
The colors are gorgeous reds and blues. The coin was stored in a Wayte Raymond board for decades before being bought out of an estate.
Priced based on color and sharp strike. How many AU53's have you seen this nice? This coin has never been submitted to CAC.

Obverse:very lustrous. Liberty's bust itself has a pale goldish toning, as does the field in front of her. In the area of the stars, the luster darkens to a really pretty mix of blue, red and purple. The widest swath and most vivid colors are on the right side of the coin.
However, the pretty color mix encompasses all 13 stars and the top of the coin above the head.
Reverse: still lustrous, but more uniform darker but pleasant (not too dark) toning that I would call light goldish brown.
I hope this helps. I realize the photos are softened or muted and don't do justice to the luster or the color. They are the best I have.
