I'm not clear about population report vs. CoinFacts vs. Registry pops

The Population Report, CoinFacts, and the Registry populations all seem to have different numbers for the same coins.

CoinFacts seems to be way behind in reporting the data, and I'm really disappointed that I'm paying for a premium service that doesn't even keep up with the regular Population Report.

Can anyone tell me what's going on with the populations and which data is correct/more reliable?

I see no problems.

You are possibly confusing the pop of the specific coin in your registry set with the "grand" pop that includes all labels.

Ex: 1995-W Silver Eagle shows pop 66 today in my registry set. but pop 81 in Coinfacts to take into account the 15 pieces (Moy, Mercanti, etc) that have different coin numbers.

Maybe it's just an anomaly with the mintages for the 2014 ATBs. I'll have to look closer at more series and make some more comparisons. Sorry for the false start.

Figure for pre-1933 coins that the PCGS and NGC pop reports are off by 2X. I don't know where CoinFacts gets their numbers. Maybe the ultra-high grade moderns don't show the same high % of resubmissions?

I would be surprised if more than one database were used. The trick is deciphering the information.
