I realize these photos are mediocre, but I am working on a photography studio (anyone have a Canon macro lens for sale?). What do you think of this CBH? Grade, appeal?

It is in fact the O.115
Lurking and learning since 2010. Full-time professional numismatist based in SoCal.
  • for reference, O-115

Are those colors correct? Jet black and gray? I like the old look, but many may not. Anything hidden like old cleaning hairlines? if not I would love it. Considering finding one above XF45 is nearly impossible, and above VF a lifetime quest, it does appear to be a very nicely detailed example.

I like the look of the coin.

A free photo editing program called photoscape (http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/download.php) has VERY EASY round cropping functions. You might consider using that to produce "just the coin" in your photo, rather than also showing your background...which differs in color on the obverse shot from the reverse shot. That way, you get a more uniform presentation, IMO. Something like this:

From a type coin perspective, I wouldn't look at it twice.....but I'm guessing the value is in the variety, and in that case
    it's probably a great example.

The color in the picture actually turned out very accurate, so yes pretty much.
