Where has this coin been all these years, the stories it could tell. A dollar was a fair amount of money in 1799. Someone probably wore it after pulling it out of circulation in the early 1800's. Maybe it was made for Jefferson's inaugural address? Was it in the civil war? Was it on a whaling ship in the 1840's? A piece of American history.
