Feedback on NACA's shipandinsure policy for coins?

derrybderryb Posts: 37,771 ✭✭✭✭✭
With the recent, drastic increase in USPS insurance rates, NACA's shipandinsure is looking very cost effective. I don't ship a lot, maybe 3-5 $1500 shipments per month.

Any members here using their service? If so:
Any trouble with a claim?
Which shipper seems to be the most cost effective on $1000-$2000 shipments? I have always shipped registered insured in the past, my only complaint being the delays in delivery.
Do you pay insurance fee with each shipment? Little confused on how/when they get their fee.

Any feedback, suggestions welcome.

I've been using them for a dozen years. Always have gotten great clarity on coverage from Barb Wingo, as well as excellent service. My policy limits are likely different than yours. Don't know how effective it is with lower value shipments and cost of shipping. Priority Express? Registered? YMMV

To the gent who wanted to know about NACA's $135 membership fee....... If the difference in coverage isn't worth $11.25 per month, you don't have much choice beyond cheap and safe via USPS.

$135/yr for membership is what keeps me away too.

"Values up to $75,000 & higher". I've never understood this. Like Geico's "save up to 15% or more". Dumb adspeak.

Another vote for NACA. If you are shipping a fair amount of hi value packages then their fee schedule can't be beat outside of a whole business umbrella policy.

Had a $4k claim a couple of years ago. They paid fast.

I use them and have been happy - no claims yet.

Need the higher coverage now and then which you just can't get from the USPS.
