Ouch man....brown recluse can get real nasty. Those asking for pics will regret it. The poison literally eats through flesh.

I hope it's only a minor poisonous spider and not a recluse. I had a similar reaction to a bite after staying in a hotel in Aspen for a weekend in the offseason. The swelling and "hardening" of the area around the bite looked just like yours but stabilized and luckily it returned to normal after about a week. I hope you have same luck!

I did not want to see your bite. Please remove it . In the past two days, we have seen two black spiders in the house. Not huge, but not small either. Where there are 2, there are more.
I don't want to call an exterminator because the stuff they use can kill house pets.

Dude, good luck! A brown recluse is nasty! I hope you don't lose a big chunk of flesh

I'm not sure these are quite the high end stuff you were looking for, but these are my favorite football cards:

That last one is pop 1, none higher.

Thanks for letting me share (again) and get well soon!

If they use the proper product it won't hurt you or your house pets only invertebrates. I won't name the product, it's used in homes and once dry the residual will kill spiders and other pest that walk across it. They will spray along your trim around all your rooms and under the house. Then spider free!

What state did the bite occur in? Wondering if it was outside of the spider's normal distribution which from Wikipedia states --

The range lies roughly south of a line from southeastern Nebraska through southern Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana to southwestern Ohio. In the southern states, it is native from central Texas to western Georgia and north to Kentucky.

A guy from one of my dart teams got bit in the buttocks on a trip to northern WI, well outside of the normal distribution range. (Sadly) I saw the pictures and he did lose a big plug of tissue. Apparently they get transported outside their range in shipments of wood, etc.

Might be good news as it is outside of the normal range. Could be a transport like my friend got hit by, but hopefully just a bite by a lesser venomous insect or spider. My friend did fully recover. I am reminded of a time I visited a friend in southern IL, just north of the SIU campus. They had dozens of these in their house. Very, very common in that region of the country.

    Take care,
