Some misc. finds from the past few weeks

Got around to cleaning and/or taking pics of some of the other finds not pictured over the past couple of weeks. The place that's yielded all of the silver, also yielded a boat load of flatware. Kept checking and hoping one was silver, until finally at least half a sterling spoon handle came out. Got probably 20 pounds of other stuff such as rusted objects, cans, etc.

Copper, brass, lead, golf balls, spoons, and other stuff that I hope to recycle or keep. Never kept the scrap copper, etc before, so hoping it will add up at the end of the year.

Vintage Hair barrette, cleaned up nicely with Coke Zero!



Vintage sun screen, brass oar lock, tag, homemade sinker, shotgun shell, probably unshot


Not sure who would wear this... brass monstrosity


Few zip tabs. I actually keep these when they come around. Nickel was a new one accidentally put in the trash pouch.


Hoping to get out detecting a little tomorrow. HH all!

I think those pull tabs are from the early 1960s.

I wanted to detect today, but, got rained out.

Save the spoons, you'll eat them up over time if you should decide to do an electrolysis setup.

I have some 5 gallon tins that I put all of my scrap copper and aluminum in. I use a gallon milk jug for the lead and also brass. If you detect anywhere near a chain link fence you will probably find a bunch of aluminum ties that break or come off of the fence. Into the alum bin they go. It's amazing how much you will find in a year or two and how much you can earn from "junk".
