Park Collection

Looking through a partial list of the recent St. James Auction of the Park Collection. Bargains could have been had on a number of high quality sovereigns. Prices that I've seen compared to the Bentley and Quartermaster collection auctions were reasonable.

Anyone pick up some?

No, and I agree that some (like the 1874 shield sov) went for fairly low. IMO, many have prices to high to sustain...I sure like the 1879 L coin, but usually comes with obverse wear or strike issues as did this one.

1879 L? Did you mean 1879 S? I just saw that I overlooked lot 266 - the 1879 M medium tail. I would really like to pick one of those up.

    Highlights:

    400,000 pounds for 1920 S proof George V

300,000 pounds for 1953 proof Elizabeth II
