Picked up a nice 61 Red Sox All Star pin but without a pinback. Anyone able to sell pins without? For arguments sake say it's worth $1.00, do I expect .20cents on the dollar?
No clue with pins.
Thanks for the help.

if the clasp was not period but this is not my area. The way I display my pins is I spray painted a 18"x 18" piece of styrofoam and I stick the pins into the styrofoam. It displays well
on a wall shelf. I've got a bag full of those clasps sitting in a drawer.
The All Star pins are cool also.
Basically, from my experience there are two types of clasps on the press pins - needle post and threaded post.
Good news is yours is a needle post.
If you check ebay - some are asking in the 300 or more range so it's worth finding a cheap pin - also made by Balfour and using the clasp that goes on it.
E.g. this Balfour phantom sells for 29 bucks.
I'm almost sure it's a needle post but you can ask - you might even find something cheaper?
Just a thought.
edit: I can't see the name on the back of your pin - it's supposed to be Balfour.
The one on the left is how the clasp should appear:
Thanks for the replies. All good inputs. Appreciate it.
