Please be on the lookout for this USPS "Lost" Bill Russell Autographed Rookie

Shipped this to an eBay buyer in Memphis, TN. It was last tracked on March 9th. It went "out for delivery" and that's the last tracking I got for it. Had to eat the ~$1000. C'est la vie. Just hoping if someone sees it, they would let me know. Thanks in advance!

no insurance, no signature confirmation? i've had packages that had no updates after "out for delivery" that was delivered but mailman just didn't scan it.

...but really 10% restocking fees on your items? c'mon.

What do you expect form someone that has openly graded / sold sheetcut cards? Or worse yet sold them raw without labeling them as such?
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

Signature confirmation was used, but they never got a signature on it.

I've rarely ever used the 10% restocking fee, but have it on there for extreme cases, such as the guy that wanted to return his Tom Brady autograph about a month after the Super Bowl because prices had gone down. eBay's policies are now so buyer-friendly that abuse of the system is pretty rampant these days and it's there to be used as protection if necessary.

I did not use insurance on it. I'm ok with taking the hit, as I saved more than that by not using insurance on many other items. Just wanted to get the word out that if the card is seen by someone, it doesn't belong to whoever has it.

    Thanks!

Just curious does EBAY even allow for a restocking fee?

It seems I always read they side with the buyer and wonder if this can truly be enforced.

Burke - I sent you a pm. Your comment is unnecessary and unwelcome.

Yes, they do. Doubt it would really deter many returns, though, and mostly just cause a bunch of negs and low feedback.

Did you fight the dispute through eBay? I've had this happen a couple times (although not nearly as high dollar)... but I was able to dispute the claim with eBay and I won both times.

Yes they can if it is clearly listed.

They do, but even it is really, really hard to enforce. A buyer can usually claim "item not as described" and even if they get exactly what is pictured in your auction, eBay will side in their favor.

I'm actually trying to move more online sales over to Amazon, as the realized prices on items are traditionally much, much higher there and their customer service is so much better. Much smaller market currently, though.

Hey Baz - Was this question for me?

If so, there was nothing to dispute. Buyer didn't get the item, so I refunded him. USPS has been pretty incompetent lately. I've got another package (non hobby) that I shipped to Brazil in early January. It's been to Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Chicago, back here in Denver, to Los Angeles again, and now (hopefully) on its way to Brazil.

I need to look at what the costs and convenience would be of shipping everything with a different carrier, but haven't done that yet.

I recently had something take literally 2 months almost to the day to get from California to Illinois. No tracking was used so IDK where it was at for so long, but luckily it did arrive safe and sound.
