NFL suspends Brady four games. Makes the NFL look pretty tough. Appeal will reduce it to maybe one, two, zero? NFL looks tough, arbiter looks like the softie.

At least now the Steelers have a chance in the season opener

It must make a difference, or else why would someone go against the rules? Of course it makes a difference in the outcome.

Oh yea it made a HUGE difference in the AFC Championship against the Colts, instead of it being 45-7 it MIGHT have been 42-7

    You are so brilliant LOL

It will get reduced to 2 games more than likely. It sounds like if Brady would have cooperated from the start, he might have just paid a fine.
Since he violated that rule(you have to cooperate under league rules), they hit him harder.

The penalty is EXTREMELY severe for the Pats. Brady's suspension will be reduced to 2 or 3 games (no way the NFL is going to have him sit out another marquee game vs. Dallas), but the loss of a 1st and 4th rd picks is the ridiculous part, IMO.

But here's the thing. The Pats have the whole pre-season to game plan for the Steelers, who will be without LeVeon Bell themselves. The Pats will be at home in front of 70,000 fans that will be more fired up for a regular season home game than they have in 10 years. Then they have Buffalo and Jacksonville, two winnable games. I give the Pats a better than 50/50 chance to start 3-0, and then Brady comes back in an F U mode that will make 2007 look like child's play. He might break Peyton's record of 55 TDs in 13 games. It's too bad they didn't sign Revis, because this team could absolutely go undefeated next year if they had a little bit better defense.

I don't think I've been more fired up for a football season, and it's only May.

I bet the Pats refuse to do any super bowl crap until hes back. Its been a decade now so I'm unsure but wouldn't they have a ceremony on game 1 for the super bowl win?

Brady was something like 11-21 with the under inflated balls in the first half against the Colts. He was something like 12-14 with "properly" inflated balls in the second half. Final score Prolly should have been 55-7

They have won 4 super bowls and that will not be taken away from them. However, the wins are tarnished. Any Patriot's fan that doesn't believe that is delusional. No matter how big, or how small, the cheating has been they cheated. I am a huge UCLA and their 10 championships in 12 years is also tarnished due to cheating. UCLA still won them and the banners still fly but they cheated and were caught. Same for the Pats.

Would the Pats have won the Super Bowls anyway? Probably so but once the reputation is tarnished it's tarnished. It doesn't get undone ever.

The defensiveness of the Pat's fans is funny. I heard Mad-dog mention the same thing yesterday on the radio. He actually went on and on about how Boston fans only care about their teams and are crazy defensive now about their team getting caught cheating. I realize he is a New Yorker so maybe has an axe to grind but it was interesting to hear his take.

Anyway, they cheated, they won, let's move on!

Its so easy for you to say these things because its NOT YOUR TEAM, again nobody gave a crap about this until the media and the hatred for the Patriots got to a frenzy, Non Patriot fans will jump all over any opportunity to talk trash about this team when EVERY QB does something to their footballs, anyone who doesnt believe this is delusional.

Give Brady 2 games because he is Tom Brady and he plays for the Pats, take the 4th round pick and a million bucks then move along.

Then before the season starts hopefully Brady wins a lawsuit against the NFL and Goodell for their witch hunt and their follies to appease everyone outside of New England.

It says he was totally cooperative with the interview, but "at the same time, *****he refused to permit us to review electronic data from his telephone or other instruments*****. Most of the key evidence in this case as in most cases comes from people’s cell phones and he refused to let us review the phone."

    That's certainly not full cooperation.

Might as well see what Ted Wells actually said rather then you glossing over the parts that don't wotk for you.

Mr. Brady, the report sets forth, he came to the interview, he answered every question, he did not refuse to answer any questions in terms of the back and forth between Mr. Brady and my team -- he was totally cooperative," Wells said.

Oy vey. I know he said that, but when he said "fully cooperated" he was talking about the interview (he answered the questions). He also said "At the same time, he refused to permit us to review electronic data from his telephone or other instruments. Most of the key evidence, as in most cases, come from people’s cell phones and he refused to let us review the phone and I want to be crystal clear. I told Mr. Brady and his agent I did not, I was willing not to take possession of the phone. I said I don’t want to see any private information, I said you keep the phone. You the agent, Mr. Yee, you can look at the phone. You give me documents that are responsive and I will take your word that you have given me what’s responsive. And they still refused.

Brady gets 4 games without pay. He is missing out to the tune of 2 million dollars it looks like.

    2 questions

does the 2 million go to the league or do the Pats get to keep it? If so even in light of the 1 million dollar fine the Pats are actually going to make 1 million off this.

How is Brady only getting 500,000 per game? image There are some awful QB's sprinkled around the league that are out earning him by a significant margin ......... Jay Cutler I'm looking at you first. image
